New York City's the Flesh have announced a May 1 release date for their forthcoming Gern Blandsten release, Firetower. The band previewed songs from the record last month during a brief North American tour. The quartet, who have toured with Xiu Xiu, Pretty Girls Make Graves and the Dresden Dolls, fuse rousing guitar riffs with dark pop melodies for a new twist on their signature sound, which they call "punk-goes-R&B."
