Alternative pop-rock singer/songwriter PJ Harvey will release White Chalk September 24 on Island Records UK, with the US date still to be announced. Recording is said to have begun last November as Harvey entered the studio with former bandmate and longtime friend and collaborator, guitarist John Parish. This is no surprise for fans who noticed new songs like "Bitter Little Bird" and "The Mountain" appearing in Harvey's solo performances last year. Lucky European fans and travelers may hear some new ones at her sold-out July 7 performance at Bridgewater Hall for the Manchester International Festival or during her second-day slot at Madrid's Summercase Festival on July 14.
