Clarity and precision dominate the thrilling spectrum of color Zaz Wallace creates with a single flute in a daring arrangement and stirring performance. Undoubtedly, her solitary air contributes largely to the refined substance of this piece, and how Zaz Wallace illustrates a new sphere of recognition for unsigned artists everywhere, I find truly remarkable and unique. The sophisticated and quintessential element of this interpretation of Adagio in Em, leaves one to wonder: from the mind of the artist, to what heights will her arrangements and compositions bring her listeners to next? I am eager to see the repertoire of Zaz Wallace unfold before her listeners into new dimensions and sudden peaks, to which "classical" remains largely a genre still in its infancy at the fingertips of her making.

Hi Ray, I listened to the recording of Zaz and to be brutally honest I thought the flute playing was not all that hot, nor remarkable nor unique. There was a fault of vibrato in the higher sustained notes and I didn't feel an interpretation of the melody. It could be that I missed this because of the quality of the recording, but at the end of the day, it's the base of the recording we listen to that make up our decisions. I'm also curious to know how to make a daring arrangement using a single flute... Listen to Karen M. Smith, Robert Shroder, Erich Graf or Laurel Zucker, all of which are independent artists to understand what I mean. Sorry to be so blunt. Best regards, Steve Allen

Fair enough, Steve. But, I read your buzz item: it's good to be a listener, too.

Hi Ray, Sure it's good to be a listener, I do it almost every day, as I produce music also. We need to listen to develop and construct. However I felt that the music in question was not executed well, in fact, if you go to the homepage of Zaz, she says that she wants to be a singer in a jazz band. If I was in her position, I would have posted a vocal track instead of a solo flute track, but that's another story... Best regards, Steve Allen
