Hi Everyone,

Firstly I would like to thank all those people who informed me that the link to the e-book "Marketing Your Music - First Steps" didn't work. To err is only human!

Feedback is extremely important for the success of any venture (including music) and if I didn't receive this feedback, I would never have known that my system was faulty. I would have been scratching my head wondering why nobody wanted to read the books!

There is a lesson to be learnt for musicians here.

Without the feedback of your listeners, how do you know if they are interested in what you do or not? It's possible that you too would be scratching your head asking yourself why nobody listens to your music!

Anyway, this post is to compliment the other post with the correct links and working system!

The first e-book "Marketing Your Music - First Steps" is free and more basic, rich with information on administration, how to form a band, how to select your repertory, your rights as a composer, care to be taken with recording studios. Just this version alone is already a book worth every penny (it's free!).

The other e-book, "Marketing Your Music - Success Strategies", is more advanced, delving deeper into the marketing of you and your music, and also the administration of your business. Your music and your band.

To download the free e-book, follow this link: http://www.marketingyourmusic.net/freebook/form.php (do this first)

To further your studies follow this link: http://www.marketingyourmusic.net/

Sure that you will not be wasting your time! :)

steve you make a really good point about needing feedback from listeners. how would you encourage them to say what they think?

Hi Tracy, The answer to that question has so many different facets. Of course one way could be to ask for an anonymous reply, but I think if you ask a specific question you would normally get an honest answer. For example your wouldn't just ask, "Do you like my music?". You would need to ask what sort of things do they look for in music they like. That way, you could introduce in your music, those aspects. Of course I'm being very simplistic, as there are aspects that have nothing to do with your music that need to be taken into consideration. Like the way you dress, you behaviour, your political beliefs, the list can go on as long as you wish to make it. With this information you can make the music, the character and the show, then put the question, "How do we make this even better?" Feedback needs to be a constant so that you don't lose contact with your listener. Best regards, Steve Allen
