Frequently Asked Questions
UnsignedArtists.com is an online community of accomplished musicians and new emerging artists. We all share a love of music and the desire to make the independent music community stronger.

Our mission is to provide the tools and information necessary for musicians to quit their day jobs and live off their trade. We are not just another web community or online music store, UnsignedArtists.com empowers, connects and nurtures its users through patented social networking tools and original content created for artists by artists. UnsignedArtists.com also builds a unique relationship with its users by engaging them in real world settings at music venues across the country and around the world.

Public Side

Artists section

This is where you can find your new favorite artist or group based on tags or music genres. We feature a new artist or band that has joined the site every day, so you won't run out of new tunes any time soon. You can also read updates on them, keep track of their latest tour and listen to their newest song. As an artist you can double your fan base, just by joining the site. As a fan you can double the amount of killer bands you need to see this weekend and once you're logged in get a chance to chat with the artists themselves.

Buzz section

The Buzz is what's being talked about, shared, and rated. It's where you'll find music reviews, photos, video and audio files. Everything you want to know about music close to you. All of this content will be coming straight to you from two sources; The Pick and The Crowd.

The Pick is content from UnsignedArtists.com and music industry professionals. Contributors include recording engineers, producers, promoters and lawyers who will give you a crash course on the music industry. With helpful inside information, a collection of articles and educational content, they will guide you all the way.

The Crowd is you, our beloved users. Your opinion matters to this community. So write an article on your experience at last night's show. Comment on someone else's review with your own thoughts. Or simply post all the pictures, audio and video clips from last weekend's music festival. Just upload it to The Buzz and share it with the UA community.

Resources section

The Resources section is where we've compiled our best articles for artists from the UA community, which we've sorted into relevant categories of musical practice. We'll give you professional advice on how to better manage your budget, your tour and your band. If you're looking for tips from professionals and peers alike, start here.

Local section

Need to know what's going on in town this weekend? Want to check out that new band everyone's talking about? Or scout your competition before the Battle of the Bands? The Local page should be your first stop for your music scene.

We've included a calendar that will tell you who is playing when and where. So you'll hear about the awesome band playing this weekend, not about how awesome that band was last night.

Registered Users Side

Registration section

Hopefully we've convinced you to join us. If we have, this is where you'll need to go. Yes you have to fill out some information, but it only takes two seconds, we swear.

Fan Profile section

With a Fan Profile you can tag articles you've written, comment on photos or listen to your favorite bands.

You can connect to your friends and connect to your favorite artist or band as a fan. Once your friends have accepted you will be connected with them. Then you can chat and find out where they're playing next. As a fan you can't tag yourself to the band, without their approval.

Artist Profile section

Once you have created a fan profile, you can build your Artist Profile. This is where you can keep a blog about your tour, upload tracks, and post a calendar of when you or your band are playing.

By posting your shows on the site in the Events Section you will be getting the word out to the right people. No more ineffective telephone poles or bulletin boards.

An Artist Profile is for solo artists. For artists that are also part of a band, you can create a Group Profile. A group has admins that are in charge of the content on the profile. The fan profile who starts the group will have ultimate control in choosing the admins and closing the account in the end.

Adding Content/Reviews

We've said it before and we'll say it again. This community thrives on the knowledge of its members. So write an article on your experience at last night's show. Comment on someone else's review with your own thoughts. Or simply post all the pictures, audio and video clips from last weekend's music festival.
