Hey everyone! It's been very very long since our last blog entry.. and we saved up a REALLY good one for now!

We had the AMAZING opportunity of going to Longview Farm Studios this weekend courtesy of UnsignedArtists.com. It was so awesome to working in the same studio of artists like The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, and many of OUR favorite artists such as Brand New, Thursday, Matchbook Romance, Killswitch Engage, and many others. Oh! And did we mention it's a ridiculously HUGE farmhouse and barn recording studio in the middle of absolutely nothing?

Well, where do we start? I feel like there's SO much I want to tell you guys, and not enough space here haha, but I'll do my best!

Alright, well, we got in touch with a brand new website for up and coming artists called UnsignedArtists.com. And with that said, they are giving many artists the once in a lifetime opportunity of going into one of the world's best studio to record a song to air on their site. We were chosen as one of these bands, and we couldn't have been happier with this chance for us.

So now we were sent to Longview Farms by the crew of UnsignedArtists.com to record one song for a 3 day span. We arrived at Longview on Friday night, left Sunday, and went back last night for the final mix. It seems like such a short period of time, but let me say this.. We learned a whole lifetime's worth of lessons, help, and much musical/vocal training and technique.

Now during the 3 day span, there was a camera crew from the website videotaping EVERYTHING we did. From singing to practicing, to even just plain old relaxing. EVERYTHING is going to be shown in a 5 webisode series on UnsignedArtists.com within the next month or so hopefully. They have tons and tons of footage to edit!

On this project, we worked with some of the music industry's best folks. It started off with rhythym and drum timing with none other than Kenny Aronoff. Some of our folks may not have heard of him, but let's just say he's been the studio drummer for almost EVERY hit song on the radio and every pop song imaginable. His list includes Ashlee Simpson, Bon Jovi, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, and WAYYYYY too many to name. But from Kenny, we learned more than drums. He taught us to lock with our drummer, and lock with our instruments perfect to make a better sounding, fuller song. He was such a down to earth person, and he was a blast to hang out with! And whoever made his Wikipedia.org page was wrong about some stuff!!!.. So we edited it with him haha

Along with that, we worked with Bonnie Milner and Danny Berini of Longview Farm Studios. Bonnie is the owner and helped produced, along with Danny who mixed, engineered, and produced as well. These guys were fantastic. Bonnie really helped us with singing techniques and patterns and really staying on key and not relying on vocal-help computer skills. Also, Danny made sure EVERYTHING was flawless on the instruments and wouldn't stop until it was the best it could be. These guys brought out the best in each of us, and we truly want to thank them for their time and effort with us. We'll be back :) .. hopefully!

So now that you might have a sense of how it went... it's not over until you hear the final product right?

We want to say that this is our BEST quality and definately BEST up to date recording of us. On this song, we feel it is a mature sense of what our band should sound like, and what we are capable of. It was really something new working in a studio with people who WANT this song to be amazing just as much as you want it to. We were definately a little worried about the whole "producers changing stuff" thing, but everything they helped with, they used our own ideas to form it. They helped US create this final product, and we really think that everyone will be stoked when they hear it. It's like hearing us in a whole new light.

We all feel that we gained SO much from this experience, and you'll hear what ALL of us had to say when they start posting those video webisodes up!

We want to pesonally thank Ava, Sal, Rich, and EVERYONE @ UnsignedArtists.com for making this a great experience for us, and for giving us this chance to do something new and exciting. We really feel different as a band to a whole different aspect of things, and you guys are the source of it. Ava, thank you for putting up with us in the early phases haha, and Rich, thanks for being the coolest camera guy around :)

So now, EVERYONE needs to go over to UNSIGNEDARTISTS.COM and listen to our brand new song "This Distance" !!!

And to everyone who goes there... PLEASE take a second to sign up and help UnsignedArtists.com do what they're doing. It's a new way of exposing bands and helping bands reach their goals. They've given us a great opportunity, and I think you guys as fans of us should give them some help and help them back with us. Think we can do that?

So now that i've blabbed on for way too long.. definately let us know what you think of the song ! And don't forget to sign up for UnsignedArtists.com and help them in their goals of being a successful website for none other than YOU GUYS, the awesome fans, and all the amazing artists they support!

Thanks guy! LISTEN TO THE SONG NOW!
