Tonight I am working the Catch 22 show in Allston, MA. I was a little excited when I found out I was scheduled for it because I haven't heard or seen a ska band in about six years or so. Then I heard The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are playing all week in Cambridge, and that the whole string of shows had sold out in seven minutes. So what I'm wondering is, is ska still alive and just super underground now? Or are these shows popping up just coincidence? I really thought ska was a done deal.

There's no ska on the site yet, let's get on that..

You're pretty dead on with the "super underground" part. There are pockets of ska fans all over the place, and if you find them, they can be quite ravenous and loyal to their scene and the bands in it.
